Ingredients
-
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
5–6 cloves garlic, finely minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
½ cup chicken broth
-
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried herbs
-
¼ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Start by preparing the chicken. Pat the chicken pieces dry using paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. This seasoning adds flavor to the chicken and helps create a delicious golden crust when cooking.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, place the chicken into the pan. Cook for about five to six minutes on each side until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat slightly and add the butter. Allow it to melt, then add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds to one minute, stirring constantly. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can turn bitter.
Next, pour in the chicken broth and stir well, scraping the bottom of the pan to release all the flavorful bits left from the chicken. Let the broth simmer for two to three minutes, allowing it to reduce slightly. Then add the heavy cream and stir until fully combined.
Season the sauce with Italian seasoning and chili flakes if using. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for four to five minutes until it begins to thicken. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, add the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, placing it directly into
